You can borrow laptops from the University of Montpellier’s university libraries for 14 days. The loan can be renewed once, if equipment is available.

A Computer for My School Year
To help you continue your studies under the best possible conditions, the university libraries lend out laptops for the academic year. Pick up your laptop at the front desk of your library, and keep it until the end of the academic year.
This service is reserved for students at the University of Montpellier enrolled in bachelor’s and master’s programs: please bring your student ID to check out materials.

To borrow a “PC for My Year,” you must be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program at the University of Montpellier for the current academic year.
- The “PC for My Year” loans will not be extended.
- "PCs for My Year" cannot be reserved.
- The inventory list you received by email requires you to return the equipment in the same condition as when it was loaned to you.
Frequently Asked Questions About Borrowing a Laptop or Tablet from a University of Montpellier Library
The loan period for a laptop or iPad is 14 days, renewable once if inventory permits. The “A PC for My Academic Year” program, meanwhile, lends laptops to UM students enrolled in bachelor’s and master’s programs for the entire academic year.
Under the “A Computer for My Academic Year” program, the equipment is loaned until July 3, the latest return date listed on your student account and communicated to you at the time of checkout. It is essential that the computer be returned to us before this date, as we will then perform the necessary reset procedures to make it available to other students at the start of the next academic year. No exceptions will be made.
Since the loan is intended to last for one year, and to ensure equitable access to the service, it cannot be renewed from one academic year to the next. PCs loaned out during the academic year must be returned by early July at the latest. They are then reset and made available for new loans at the start of the following academic year.
