Extend a document
Updated July 25, 2026Requirements for Extending Your Loan
You can request an extension if:
- the document has not been reserved by someone else;
- Your account has no restrictions (e.g., late fees);
- This is not a short-term loan (codes, textbooks, exam prep books, etc.);
- You have not exceeded the scheduled return date.
When can you extend it, and by how long?
It allows you to extend the return period beyond the original return date:

| Undergraduate or graduate students, external users | 10 days |
| People with disabilities | 14 days |
| Ph.D. students / those preparing for the agrégation exam, faculty members, administrative staff | 28 days |
How can you extend your loan?

Log in to your digital learning environment.

Open the "Libraries" tile .

Click on your first and last name (in the upper right corner).

Go to your reader account and select the "My Checkouts" section .

Select the loan you want to extend and click "Extend."

Log in to the catalog.
