Tailored Services

Extended borrowing privileges: Students with disabilities may borrow up to 20 items for 42 days.

Request documents available at any university library in the network.
Have the available, checkable-out items set aside.
Reserving items you’ve already checked out: Once you’ve found the items in the catalog, click “Reserve” next to each item, then select the library where you’d like to pick them up. You’ll receive an email inviting you to pick up the items at the front desk of the selected library.
Renew your loans: From your reader account in the catalog, click “Renew” next to each item.
Undifferentiated return: You can return items to any library in the network.
Submit a request for an accessible document online under the “Your Services” section .
Reserving a workspace: Three rooms are primarily reserved for Handy users—the Esther Duflo Room in the Richter Library (^3rd floor), and the Higgs and Quintinie Rooms in the Sciences Library. You can make a reservation on your own using the Affluences app; then, please check in at the library reception desk to confirm your arrival.

Frequently Asked Questions About Accessibility and Adapted Services at UM Libraries

At the University of Montpellier, the Handiversité office is responsible for disability services. To access adapted services at the university library, first register with Handiversité (ENT > “Handy” tile). You can then access the library’s adapted services simply by presenting your student ID: extended borrowing privileges, dedicated study rooms, adapted equipment, and personalized assistance with research.

In Montpellier’s university libraries, students with disabilities registered with Handiversité enjoy extended loan privileges (20 items for 42 days), priority access to study rooms (the Esther Duflo Room at the Richter University Library, and the Higgs and Quintinie Rooms at the Sciences University Library), adapted equipment, and personalized assistance with research. Items can be returned to any university library in the network (universal return policy).
