Health and Sports Science

The University of Montpellier libraries provide access to several reference databases: Clinical Key (medical databases and journals), S-ECN (preparation for national exams), E-Vidal (medications), Web of Science, and SPORTDiscus (sports science). These are in addition to multidisciplinary and news databases. Access is available online after logging in with your UM credentials.

All databases are available online, both on campus and remotely. From the library catalog, select the database you want, then log in with your University of Montpellier credentials to access the resource.

The S-ECN platform is designed to help students prepare for the national medical exams (EDN/ECN). Clinical Key provides access to the medical schools’ reference materials, and E-Vidal offers information on medications. For further resources, the university libraries offer a dedicated space for preparing for entrance exams and certifications.

For sports science and STAPS, the SPORTDiscus database indexes the key scientific literature in the field. Web of Science complements these searches with its articles and citation index. Both databases are accessible after UM authentication.

A literature search involves several steps: defining the topic and formulating a search query, selecting the appropriate databases (Clinical Key, Web of Science, SPORTDiscus, etc.), searching for and selecting references, and finally evaluating and citing sources. The university libraries offer training in literature searches and Zotero.
