Curated by Florian Guyader as part of the Tsaobis Baboon Project (CNRS / ISEM), this photographic and scientific exhibition takes us deep into the daily lives of chacma baboons (Papio ursinus) in the arid landscapes of the Namib Desert. At the intersection of art and science, each image reveals the richness of their social interactions, their survival strategies, and their remarkable ability to adapt to a demanding environment.
As you explore the exhibition, discover the mechanisms that shape these complex societies: cooperation, hierarchies, social bonds, and collective decision-making. This is a unique opportunity to gain a fresh perspective on one of our closest cousins in the animal kingdom and to discover how scientific research sheds light on the behaviors of living organisms.
This exhibition will travel throughout the academic year to the UM’s university libraries (Medicine-Nîmes Library, Richter Library, Medicine-UPM Library, and Sciences Library).
